I downloaded a starchip archive, but it comnes in the flac
format, which wilndows media player can't play. I really need to know from someone who does, just how do I download an archive and be able to listen to it. Once I get it, I'd be so grateful. Many thanks

As Jasper said, check out the FLAC FAQ above. There is, however, a way to listen to FLAC on Itunes as well, without downlaoding Winamp. You will need to download FLAC Frontend Freeware, which is compatable with ITunes (and possibly Windows media Player). Another problem with winamp is that (last time I checked, which was a while ago) it is free if you do not wish to burn your music to CD, otherwise you have to pay for the upgraded version.

I can burn to CD from Winamp on the free version but it is slow. I think to burn at higher speeds you have to pay.

Just above the forum there is a list of FAQ, one of them is "How Do I Listen to FLAC files?" This describes what you have to do.

Basically you download winamp and the FLAC plug in for Winamp.
